Hi all I had my labs done last week and I was super defecient in Vitamin D so my Dr prescribed 50.000 IU once weekly. I have a question is it ok for me to still take my multi it has Vit D in it can I get to much Vit D? Thanks for any help. I also was low on B 12 and hormones Showing Perimenapause. But all in all everything else was great blood sugar, Cholesterol and things like that.

I was Vit. D deficient when I got my pre-op labs back as well. They told me to take my multi Vit. along with the Vit. D.

you can call your doc if you are concerned, but I don't think that the multi vitamin Vit D is going to be a problem wiht the prescription

I take 10,000 IU of Vit D3 daily -- along wiht my multi vitamin

I have taken that dose of D for several years due to my osteoporosis. I also take my multi and my calcium has  in it. When I asked I was told I would have to go a lot higher in order to get too much.

Just make sure if your Multi has iron in it, that you do not take it at the same time as your Calcium. Also, if you are having trouble with the B-12 GNC makes a great sublingual that works like a charm (I actually had to go from doing it every day to every other day b/c mine went from low to a little high in one month of supplementing).

I took Calcitrol for a year.  My level came up once last summer.  They cut it back at bit and it went very low again.  Now I take 50,00 IU of Vitamin D and Calcitrol.  I up to normal after another year.  We are sort of waiting to see if it is because of summer & my levels may drop again or not.  So even on Vitamin D, it can take a bit.

I do B12 every 2 weeks . . . my last levels were drawn a bit too close to the shot (this week.)  The only thing I was deficient on was iron . . . I really don't like taking prenatals.  I forget my 2 Flinstones as well.  I found a liquid multivitamin at Sam's Club and small slow release iron pills as well.
