3 lapbands... anyone else?
You know what, what I am not going to do is come down here and jump all over her ass for the choices SHE is making .
No...I certainly wouldn't jump all over the OP and bash her bc she had 3 lapbands put in. It isn't any of my business, but I just genuinely want to know why someone would do that. More importantly, I want to know why ANY surgeon, and not just a reputable one, but any surgeon, would put a 3rd lap band in his/her patient. Is their some type of motive on the Dr.'s part? I would truly question a Dr. who did that. I would definitely be giving him/her the "side-eye."
I dont care if she has fourteen bands, if that is w hat she wants then that is what she is going to do . I'm not going to dog her over her decisions.
I wouldn't dog the OP if she had 14 bands...what's the point? People are going to do what they want to do anyway. However, I really would care and be concerned if the OP got 14 bands. More importantly, I would want to know who the hell the Dr. is that is placing these 14 bands in the same patient.
Maybe she has her reasons as to why she did what she did. Its not my business and its certainly nobody Else business on this board that is between her , her doctor, and her family .
You are absolutely correct! It is her business. However, she posted her personal business of how she had had 3 lapbands implanted, and made this post on a public forum. I am interested in knowing why. If she doesn't want to say...that's cool too. None of my business...just trying to understand.

sorry if I spelled that wrong :o) My post wasn't directed at you , I have a feeling there is going to be some others posting on this about me :o)
I completely understand what you are saying and I might not agree with her choice but its not my choice, its not my body, and its not my doctor . I am just giving support to somebody that is going through a rough time that is what this site is about is support and that is what I am here for .
I'm not here to judge anybody on their choices, and what they do in their life with their bodies .
The sad thing is I can see why people that do need support that they gained weight, or they did go get a second band why they dont post here because its responses like we just saw .
I am struggling very badly right now and I haven't tried to hide that fact but I dont come out and make a post about it either to get advice because I dont need people to dog me or knock me down any harder then I feel about myself right now .
People dont need that people need support not to be attacked when they are struggling, or even like this post that they got a third lap band .
If people dont agree with what she did dont respond but dont come in here and attack or even attack another poster for giving them support that is just wrong on all sides and I would never do that to a single person on here even if I dont agree with the decisions they make .

you can go get a fill - use the band as it's intended. if fear of complications is what's keeping you - well that's another demon outside of food, don't you think? from your posts, i think my surgeon follows similar protocol as yours - but you know what, very few are successful with the band alone providing restriction.
my band is coming out on thursday - band is perfectly intact, but recent illness diagnosis & the need for meds that arent' compatible with the band - make it a necessity of late. i'm also revising to the sleeve - because there is not a chance i can do this w/out restriction...period.
i also don't ***** about my story - here or even on the fail band board - in addition , i can also give **** if the OP gets band #4. the mere fact that a ***COUGH*** COE dr put 2 bands into her after an erosion????? even the band manufacturer says this a No No ... so obviously like maria f has been stating all along, her doc must not have reported that erosion. makes you think somewhat how stats are not all that accurate.

Lmao Red , oh yesterday was a nightmare for us Steeler fans , I have no clue who was out there on the field but it sure wasn't the Steelers. And I was a Jet's fan last night also . You all do have a really good team this yr and I'm so hoping the Jets can knock the Pats down a peg or two :o)
I went into see my doc this past Friday in fact expecting a fill or was going to get one if he said I should get one because this is not fun struggling.
We did talk about my fears about getting a fill and that might be some of it but after what my parents did for me and my husband cleaning out our checking account and taking a loan out for this surgery it wouldn't stop me from getting one no matter how worried I was . I would be to upset disappointing my family and husband. that is a huge fear for me because everybody went out of there way for me.
I dont eat over my cup or if it is its not very often and its not very much and I can still go three hrs or more of not eating . Just like today I had two eggs for breakfast and I haven't ate since then and I'm just not hungry (physically ) mentally oh hell yeah I could eat but I'm not physically hungry .
He thinks with the stress of things going on the house right now money being extremely tight, my son and his grades and having a major attitude ( he is 16) I am turning to food for my comfort since I dont have my smokes no more. I use to be a big time smoker 2 packs to 3 packs a day and that is how I relieved my stress. Some of the girls on here ate there way through there stress or emotions and I was the opposite I smoked my way through . Now, since I dont have that habit to fall back on and trust me I have thought so many times to go and grab a smoke instead of me grabbing food but I know that isn't the answer either. I am turning to food .
He thinks that is the biggest part of my problem I got rid of one habit and fell back onto another habit. I talked to my doc and my NUT for a good hour on Friday and he didn't want to give me a fill right then and there he didn't think that was the answer or would solve my problems. He thought maybe a fill would make mattes worse for me . I do have restriction maybe not the best but I can go three hrs or more of not wanting to eat and he thinks that if he gives me one that it would make me to tight and he is worried about that and with my stress so high he thinks that could cause the band to even tighten up more with a fill.
He is going to see me again in a couple of weeks and see how I am doing and my NUT is emailing me every other day and checking in on me . They are worried about me going back to smoking because this emotional eating is all so new to me and I dont like it at all :o( . I never used food as emotional thing IE stress, sad, happy I always used my smokes that is why I smoked so much . I just didn't know how to control my portions at meal times that is why the doc thought I would do really good with the band because I did not do the emotional eating. Heck I hardly ever snacked . When I smoked I could care less about food when I was stressed, you take my smokes away from me you better watch out because I was not a nice person lol.
I will see what happens in the next couple of weeks. I am keeping in contact with my doctor about things and if thinks I need a fill a couple of weeks I will get one . I trust him 100% But like i told Maria a couple days ago I wont just go and get a fill because I do have the band in me, I dont think a fill would help me solve my problems right now , especially when I go that long without being hungry . I would be to worried getting a fill and still stess eating and causing damage to the band or to myself because I got a fill that wasnt neccessary . If that makes any sense at all .
