Another fill? What do you think?

I had really good restriction up until two weeks ago.  It is almost like it disappeared over night.  I am now able to eat more than one cup of food.  I try not to though so I do not put on weight.  I am STARVING by the next meal though.  I am eating all dense protein and avoiding slider foods. I am definately getting my fluids in.   I feel I am following all the band rules, so I am wondering if it just might be time for another fill?

Good restriction meal plan for me:

B: Protein shake
L: 3 oz. chicken and 1/4 cup of spinach leaves (mixed together to make salad)
S: 30z of meat and 1/4 cup of veggies
Snack:  piece of fruit

Loss of restriction:

B:  egg beater and turkey sausage omlet-  about 1 1/2 c. prepared (ate it all)
Snack: pear
L:  4oz. of chicken and veggies ( eat it all and would actually like more)
S: same thing as lunch but usually a different meat, such as turkey
Snack:  banana
*I eat all of this food and would like more.  I still go to bed with my stomach growling.

I am just worried about getting too many fills.  I have 4.5 cc in my 10cc band currently.  It is just weird how two weeks ago I had just the right amount and boom the restriction was gone.

That doesn't sound like a ton of food to me.  Are you exercising?  That would make you want (& need) more calories.  Are you waiting 30-60 minutes after a meal before drinking anything?  If you aren't, that could be why you're hungry.  You say you're starving by your next meal.  Are you staying satiated for 3 hrs or so after you eat?

You probably do need a slight fill.  As others have stated, a tiny amount makes all the difference.  Good luck!

It does sound like you need a slight fill. Something you might try is to substitute a protein snack instead of the fruit. A protein bar, string cheese, a hard boiled egg, a little tuna, or a greek yogurt. For me these things keep me a little more "full" and satisfied than fruit. My surgeon suggests a protein snack in the evening anyway.

If these things don't work then a small fill is in order. Perhaps try some of the suggestions you get on OH while you are waiting for your appointment. Then, if you end up not needing the fill you could cancel.

If you are hungry, eat. It doesn't have to be much, but if I get too hungry I end up going berserk!

Good luck with it, Sue

I have to agree with Barbara I dont think  you are eating enough., I dont think  you are getting enough calories in .

I dont have any fills but I can always eat more then my cup of food and there will be alot of people on here that will tell you the same thing , that is when self control and will power plays into all this .   The band does help us but it does have to come down to us just saying enough is enough also :o) .

I never get full and I'm not hungry either after I eat.  Could I eat more of course I can but I just dont .

I eat 4 oz of protein , some carbs and some veggies for dinner and I'm good to go for a good 3-4 hrs and if I stay up late at night which I have been because of Big Brother lol I will get some snacks and munch on them .

If you are exercising that will make a huge difference . Im always hungry when I exercise . Zumba burns off 599 calories per hour  .   I always add more calories to my Zumba days and more carbs.  I  will eat between 1200 to 1400 calories on them days.

Jus****ch yourself because you will get to the point that you are not eating enough calories and that can be just as bad as eating to much calories.  Like I said you will lose for awhile then you will slowly stop losing .

Why dont you start changing your snacks around some. I love to take a couple of slices of cheese and make a couple of ham wraps and eat them for snacks. I do alot  of that for Zumba.

Fruit is good for us no doubt but it dont keep your belly from growling its mostly water anyways :o)

I can eat my meal and I'm hungry about 3 hrs later and the doc said that is fine the band is only suppose to keep you full for 3 hrs maybe 4 .

That is why my doc dont like us to eat three meals he likes us to eat six meals through out the day . It keeps your hunger at bay, and plus it keeps your metabolism going through out the day :o)   All the health experts does say its better to eat six small meals compared to only three

I hear that as the stomach fat melts away, the band loosens.  You may need a slight fill.  But the ideas of protein snacks are really good ones.  Good Luck!
