What's today's non scale victory?

Rode my bike about 17 miles yesterday.
I could never have dreamed of that a year ago!
Quite an adventure....
Got caught in rain three different times and was completely soaked when I came home. Plus tried a short cut through the woods and got lost for awhile.
Yikes!
Had a lot of fun, though.
Took off another pound too!
Cheers!

hi Mary!

Good for you.  I haven't gotten on a bike except for spinning -- epic fail -- in a while now.  Maybe its on the horizon, who knows.

My NSV was pulling a pair of jeans out of the closet that I used to have to do calisthenics to get into and then hated the way they looked.  I put them on the other day and they slid right up, buttoned and were far too big to wear without a belt.  I wore them all day and loved how I felt and looked in them.

I love hearing NSV's. Thanks for the post!

That's great!
I love the clothes victories!
Congrats and keep it up!
I tried spinning too, but just could not keep up at all. I need to exercise at my own pace.
I have  padded bike shorts and a gel seat for the bike and it does make it a bit easier.
I'm off on another ride today before the rain starts up again!
Best of luck!
Mary

I can't wait to get my bike.  I am moving to a place that I has bike storage...so I will be buying one shortly.  I love running in the rain...it washes all of the sweat away.  I love the short cut adventure....maybe I will be on my own adventures soon.

My most recent NSV was yesterday at my physical.  My cholesterol improved greatly.  I went from 278 to 223.  My good cholesterol went from 51 to 84.  My doctor said that is all due to my exercising!!!  I didn't take any medicine...I did this with just my diet and exercise!!!  Yeah!!!  They are retaking my levels in 3 months and my doctor says at the rate I'm going I will be below 199 in no time!!!  Before my surgery my cholesterol was at 298!!!  To me this is just as great as seeing the scale go down...it means a longer healthier life!!!!

Congrats on your NSV!  I love bike riding, but it is so hard to do with 4 kids that aren't all old enough yet.  I do have a bike trailer that hooks to my bike for the younger kids, and it makes it a little eaisier, but still too much to do too often.

My latest NSV was yesterday  I didn't have a sitter for my younger 2 kids (5, and 18 months), so I had to bring them on my run in the double jogging stroller.  I did my 3.7 mile loop around the lake all while pusshing them.  It was sooooo hard.  I kept wanting to walk and just forget about my run, but I stayed with it and ended up making it 3.1 miles (5K) before I slowed down to a walk.  Now granted, my pace was pretty slow, more like a jog.  But I'm still calling it a victory becasue I jogged  3.1 miles while pushing close to 100 pounds!  However, next time, I am waiting until I can go on my run without a stroller!!!!!

I am finally  steadily losing this baby weight, but am trying to notice the other things too.  Thanks for the post.  It makes me stop and remember it is NOT all about the scale!

That's great. You'll lose it if you keep up your good work.
I saw some Moms on the bike path today jogging in a group. One of them was calling the moves as they went along. It's not easy pushing a stroller and trying to work out. I have to hand it to all of you young Moms who are so determined to stay in shape,

Good for you!!!

Let's see an NSV for me happened this past weekend with my jeans that used to be WAY too tight but then when I put them on I looked fantastic and they were a little too big!! I am so close to being able to fit in 18s its ridiculous! lol

That is so great!
It's so wonderful to get into something a size or two smaller.
I am still in plus sizes, alas, but hoping to get out of them soon.
Good luck!
