Memphis- Dr. Weaver's Leave of Absense
I hadn't heard that. I sure hope she's OK. Vanessa does my fills but I like and admire Dr. Weaver, and I heard from other patients that the new surgeon at St. Francis is anti-band. Maybe someone on the TN forum would know more.

Revision on 08/27/15
I was banded by Dr. Weaver back in 2007, and I can tell you they were pretty rude and disorganized back then (other than the nutritionist that was there at the time), so don't expect anything to change, lol. I didn't think much of it, and then I moved a couple of years ago and had to find a new surgeon (well, I just recently found one). The difference between Dr. Weaver's office staff and my new surgeon's office staff is like night and day. If you aren't satisfied or happy with the treatment you've gotten, you need to transfer to a new surgeon. I don't know if Dr. Woodman would be a great choice (I've heard plenty about his not-so-nice bedside manner), but definitley look into changing to a different surgeon.
Plus, if Dr. Weaver hasn't added a fluoroscope to her office, I STRONGLY recommend finding a surgeon that has one. I had my first appointment with my new surgeon and he had to do a complete unfill of my band and recommended that I revise to a VSG after looking at my band with a fluoroscope. I had apparently been living with an extremely tight band for a few years, causing massive pouch dilation. I probably could have avoided that if Dr. Weaver had been able to see how my band and pouch were doing when she did my fills. But she didn't, so now I have to revise or, if insurance won't pay for that, get my band repositioned. If you had asked me before I saw my pouch and band under the fluoroscope, I would have said I had no restriction at all and needed a fill. Apparently, though, my opening between pouches was about the size of a pencil eraser, small enough that even the liquid barium was just sitting in the pouch and barely trickling through.
