Surgery Date

Well, I just got the call. I'm to report to the hospital at 9:45AM on Monday!  I'm both excited and apprehensive!  What a whirlwind this has been.  My boyfriend took me to the Dominican Republic for a long weekend to celebrate my birthday and to ease my mind.  I had a great time, and came back so relaxed, until the phone call just now. 

I know it will be fine, and I have all the tools to have this be successful.  I'm going to force myself to relax and think positive...This time next week I will feel much more at ease.

Congratulations on your date! It is totally normal to feel aprehensive it is truly a huge thing you are doing. You are right that you will feel better after it is over. For the time being try to keep busy and not think about the "what ifs". Remind yourself that if you had a choice you would not be doing this, but you probably have tried many times and failed to do it on your own. This will give you a fighting chance. Of course the band won't do the work for you but it will give you a boost and that is a chance to improve your health and quality of life.
