I feel your pain. My hubby eats 4000 cal a day and I feel like I am eating a lot at 1400 a day. Whenever he feels he is getting a little "fat" and wants to drop 5lbs in a week he just eats less dessert each night after supper. Instead of a HUGE serving, he eats a slightly less huge serving. Grrrrrrrrr
I hear you! My partner and I had the lap band on the same day. He lost 15lbs on the pre-op diet in 1 week, I lost 3! Since then he has lost another 25 and I have lost 12! Also I am now plateaued and waiting for my first fill (scheduled for the 10th of Aug) and he is still losing 4-5lbs a week. Oh well, he does have way more to lose than me so hopefully it will all work out I the end I hope!
There's nothing wrong with a little healthy competition! Remember, he's just experiencing the initial drop that happens for all of us when we start eating clean. He may be able to lose it, but you'll be able to keep it off thanks to your tool. You already know what you need to do to continue your WL journey. This might be a great place for your to get competitive and back on track! I don't know about fasting at this point, but maybe 2 days of protein shakes and then a very low carb regime?
It will be very interesting to see how long your husband's new determination lasts, but keep encouraging him just as you'd want him to do with you!
I see it as a positive, for you if you like a little healthy competition!
