Husband goes on "diet" ARGH! VENT.
Seriously, I've been telling him for years he needs to shape up his eating. So we watch this movie "Fat, Sick, and Nearly Dead." It's a good movie, I recommend it. Next day he's being totally nuts and goes to the grocery store and buys $100 worth of produce. Nothing else.
So I've gone along, trimmed up my eating, which totally needed to be done. I find myself at a 1.5 loss since Monday. Yippee! My DH has lost quite nearly 10 lbs. Takes in about 30-40% more calories than me and is sucking tea down like it's going out of style. WTH?!
I'm not looking for an answer, really just needed to vent. I mean it's great that he's losing weight and watching what he eats, but what about me??
Been thinking about going back on the pre-band diet just to shape it up a little, you know... the dreaded fasting. It's looking like that's going to have to happen if I wanna get this weight loss jump started again. BUMMER!!!

Hey there! I know it's frustrating but you have to remember, if he's been eating terribly and suddenly completely changes his habits, he's going to lose relaly fast the first week or even first 2 weeks but it will slow down for him. As for your weight loss, a pound and 1/2 in less than a week is great...remember us bandsters are supposed to loose 1-3 per week. So you are on track. I know it's frustrating but I wouldn't torture myself by fasting unless you really think it is necessary. Sounds like you are doing fine but slow and steady wins the race...I know it's easier said than done, I'm anxious to drop my weight faster too...I first met with my surgeon in November and I've lost 56 lbs since then (my surgery was in April) but while I clearly see changes in my clothes, etc. To look at myself in photos, I still look HUGE lol...you will get there. Vent as much as you need to in order to get through it!
Why do you say add juices? In my opinion they are a diet killer. Lots of calories and carbs. It's natural sugar, but still sugar. Also, you are not getting any fiber. I believe your much better off eating a piece of fruit rather than drinking fruit juice. I don't drink milk either (I get calcium from low fat cheese). I would rather eat my calories than drink them.
I meant the fresh green juices like in the documentary. I make a juice of..one bag of spinach..celery..cucumber...ginger and two apples. It's about re-setting your body and healing from the inside. I drink fresh juices in my liquid phase and lost 32lbs in 16 days. And my husband who also follows the diet from the documentary lost 20kbs in a week. He is a soldier in the military so we incorperated salads along with the juices. I was a raw foodest and lost 40lbs in a month...never counting calories eating a raw began diet filled with nuts..dates..and avacados. Actually I have never seen a raw food cookbook with a calorie count. Your body will adjust its self accordingly when you eat freash foods and juice fresh fruits and vegetables..
Don't u hate it that some men can drop it like that?! That's what prompted me to post the "I hate Ted" video several months ago.
