Isn't it great meeting OH people face to face! I met lots (including people like Bette and Mira and Debbie ) a couple of years back when I was in New England. And every now and then I meet up with that very rare species, the British wls person, in London.

We're not even all bandsters in the London group, but we all just find it so great to meet others *****ally understand.

Hope the nerve pain subsides. How is eating going?

Well consider trying to time one of your US trips with an OH conference, or the WLSFA Vegas Meet & Greet:

I had to cancel my meet up because I couldn't shake off the pain, but we are gonna try for tomorrow.

Eating is different with the sleeve. On one hand there is no pain when I eat anything, unless I overeat but that only lasts for a few minutes. I have to be careful because I CAN EAT NOW and I'm afraid if I'm not careful then I could easily gain some weight back. I think I will feel better once I can shake off this shoulder pain and get back to the gym.

I had to relearn all the " Stop I'm full signs " because although I had become aware of them in the beginning with my band. I had forgotten most of them because all I experienced was pain as my " stop sign ". Now I am having to really pay attention to that feeling of satiety I start feeling long before I actually want to stop eating.

I vomited three times in the beginning of my soft food stage because I didn't pay close enough attention. Now I'm very careful to make sure I look for the tale tale although very subtle signs of fullness.

Feeling like a newbie

That constant pain with food must have been awful! I guess that with any wls there is a learning curve but it must be wonderful to feel pain free after so long.

exercise EXERCISE exercise EXERCISE!!!   the band is just a tool to help you..its not a pass to avoid moving to get that weight off!!!  find something you like to do so its fun and something to look forward to.. not work     start slowly and build you re your way up in whatever activity you choose,  you don't have to be a professional athlete to get started..

ultimately  follow your own doctors advice/recommendations,  while its okay to ask questions and advice here  on this forum,    your doctor knows best for you're particular case and not on line sofa quarter backs who feel you should be calling "them" doctor   while the members on here who really  mean well and are knowledgeable out weigh these self proclaimed medical gurus    its still best  practice to run any question concerns through your doctor especially serious concerns..
