Banded! :)

Its official. I am banded. My surgery was yesterday. Everything went very smoothly! My doc said he was very happy with the condition of my insides and that I had done a great job dropping a little weight before the surgery. I am pretty sore but thats to be expected. I have been up walking around a little and am eating a little applesauce with protein added to it. At the hospital I weighed in at 238. So let the journey begin. :)

Congrats!  Its a wonderful journey, tough at times, but wonderful!  Congrats again and good luck with everything.  I rely on these boards alot to help me out!  I was banded on 3/23.  I'm happy with my decision.  Some days I wi**** would come off faster, but I'm good w/ slow!

Congratulations!!  I am 9 days post op and have lost the IV fluid weight and down 5 new pounds!!!  I am loving my choice.  Make you you take it easy the first week.  I ended up with a Hematoma at the port site and it is just now going down.  I overdid it on day 3 cleaning my closet and bending over.  Good luck and looing forward to your success:-)

Way to go! I am so glad you are feeling good about the decision too! Question, did your skin itch a lot after surgery? My stomach and chest are itching like crazy!

No, I did not have itchy skin. I do now as things are beginning to heal. Maybe it is the anesthesia or the scrub they put on you prior to surgery. It could even be from the gas they pump us up with... maybe it is stretching your skin really tight??!!

Sounds like a pain though! I hope you get some relief.

I am hoping its just my skin settling back down from being stretched out by all the air. Im not in any pain with it...but I look funny with all the claw marks from my constant scratching. lol I have showered and its not itching around the wounds so thats good. :)
