I'm with you, I don't need to constantly hear that my band will fail sometime in the future....if I have problems later on, so be it.  I'll have lost my excess weight by then & there is no way I will ever put it back on after paying so much money. There are potential complications with every surgery, not just wils & I'm really fed up with the band wars too.

I don't bother coming on here much anymore because it just stresses me out.

All the best....Jill

I thought I'd never regain the weight after band removal, either. I went through too much pain and suffering to just gain it all back, you know? I was absolutely convinced that I was in NO danger of regain, but then I had to take steroids because I had a terrible reaction to the dye used in a CT scan, then I quit smoking and then I had a hysterectomy... and the weight came right back.

A lot of people think that if they lose their bands, they'll never regain. Most do, though, otherwise we wouldn't have needed WLS in the first place.  I'm sorry you feel stressed coming to this board, and I hope it's not because of me, but I personally think it's important that people know the truth of a very life altering situation. It's imperative.  There are people here every single day who didn't research, are surprised by the complications that come with the band and are kind of lost... and that is a hard thing to deal with alone.

I wish you the greatest success with your band. I truly do.

Hi, no its not because of you or anyone in particular, lol
I put on weight as a young mum many years ago, partly due to having an underactive thyroid, but have kept myself at the same weight for maybe the last ten years.  I just knew that at 58 it would be too difficult to lose 4-5 stone without a little help, hence having the band. So I had already changed my eating habits before having the band....this is why I know I won't put the weight back on, even if the band fails in the future.
I don't mean to sound smug I'm just explaining my personal situation a little better.
As i said people have problems with every surgery..... I had a knee replacement 9 yrs ago & it didn't stop the pain at all, but that doesn't mean it wont be succesful for someone else and I wouldn't say "dont have it, its the worst thing I've ever done" which is what happens on this site. I just think its wrong, but thats just my opinion.
I wish everyone all the best...whatever surgery they've chosen.

Oh Yeah! I'm a STEELERS! fan by default. I'm not into sports so I just support my husband's teams.
