I woke up with white spots all over my throat. I am on my way to the doc now. I am so afraid that my surgery will get postponed. If it dies I don't know when I will be able to get it. The following two weeks are my sons birthdays and then my family will be away for a week and then my husband will be away for a week. That will take us to the end of July. I am so upset. I guess I won't know what is going to happen until I go see the doc and then call the lap band doc on Monday:(
I asked my surgeon about this very thing and of course you have to remember each surgeon is different and your surgeon may have different guidlines.
My surgeon said as long as the symptoms of my sickness are from the neck up he would proceed with the surgery. So if you have a sinus infection, ear infection, strep...he would do the surgery. If you have congestion in your lungs or if you are achy and nauseous or showing signs of the flu...he would call the surgery off. So if my surgeon was your surgeon your surgery wouldn't be canceled.
