PORT ON RIGHT SIDE?
I just got banded Monday, June 6th. My surgeon had told me that he normally puts the port on the left side (if your right handed). Im right handed and he put my port on the right side?Dont have any idea why he did that! Wont this restrict movement? one of my goals is to play softball and team sports again. If my throwing/shooting arm is my right side, will this stop me? I also wanted to get back into tennis and Im right handed?
Any other right handers out there that have their port on their right side? Does this restrict movement?

I honestly don't think it will make any difference with your activities. I have golfed, swam, ran, rock climbed, zip lined, done the 30 day shred, biked, and lots of walking etc etc... and it's never bothered me a bit.
I am one week banded but I did ask that question....My bariatric center does all of the ports on the right side as they like them to be consistent at their office. They told me it didn't matter which side but that it is best to be able to easily locate it. Since mine is so new and tender still I can't comment on if it has made a difference. Good luck with your recovery!!!
