take small sips -- and work to get a little more each day
You can go for weeks without food, but only days without liquids -- and you do NOT want to de-hydrate
You might try different temperature liquids also -- sometimes warm liquids (tea, water) go down just fine - other times, it seems that cold liquids go down better.
My doc had me work to get 1 ounce every 15 minutes --- so, 4 ounces an hour as a rule of thumb for all of my waking hours.
