Follow Up
A few weeks ago i posted about how i had given up on the band around 2 years ago and then decided to come back and give it a chance. I just wanted to update everyone that i went to the doctor yesterday and got my first fill in over 2 years. He was very positive about helping me get this working again. I am trying to remember all the rules to follow. Today i am eating yogurt and creamy soups even though i feel like i could eat tons. I go back in a month so we will see what happens.
Here are a few questions to help me remember....i am sure these have been posted in other posts and i apologize.
A fill at times can take up to a couple weeks to actually feel...correct?
What are some of everyone's favorite protein drinks? Right now i got the Atkins ones and they arent horriable.
Any other suggestions to help me get back on track would be great!!!
Thanks Everyone!!

I'm a chocoholic so I go for that flavor in the GNC Amp Whey Protein. You do have to mix it in a blender, and I use vanilla coconut milk, 45 to 60 calories depending on if I want a 4 or 6 oz shake. I also use the Atkins as a quick on the go kinda thing, chocolate royale, but not as good as the GNC. And if you're feeling weak, or needing it to last longer, put in 2 scoops, or add p. butter and half a banana (small), blend with the GNC and milk...prety good. Best of luck to you!
While I really like the taste of real chocolate, the chocolate protein drinks I've tried just aren't very good to me. I prefer fruit.
Syntrax Nectar is the best I've found. Only 90 to 100 calories a scoop, 23 grams protein, 0 carbs and it's whey protein isolate (which is what we're advised to use).
You can get samples from the company at about 1.00/packet.. go to www.si03.com and either email or call and inquire about Nectar samples.
If you find you like them, you can order from the company or from Netrition.com (I think Netrition has the better prices). Bariatric Advantage also carries the Syntrax Nectars.
I've had some fills kick in right away and some take 10 days or so to make themselves known.
Remember, small bites, chew well, try not to drink large amounts for at least 30 minutes after a meal, get in a minimum of 64oz of fluid a day (water preferrably, but all fluids count), take in a little liquid calories as possible (with the exception of maybe a protein drink at breakfast if you're too tight to eat solid food). Weigh &/or measure your food. Try to move your body 30 minutes a day.
Glad to hear you went back to the doc and making a fresh start. You can do this!!
