Remember most of it is all in your mind. (Mind Hungry) I was a 6 soda a day girl and quit cold turkey and you know what, I don't miss it. Now I have had a couple of oz since but it is no big deal and not worth it.
Congrats because you took this step and it is the start of working on your self....and you deserve it!

The thinking is no carbonation because it can possibly stretch the smaller upper stomach if consumed in quantity. Speak to your doctor about this, he/she may have other opinions. I personally have only had a few sips of diet coke and the like over the past 2 years.. and none at all for the first 8 months or so after surgery. I didn't want to go to all the trouble of having surgery and risk ruining things for me. JMO.
Again, ask your doctor about the peanut butter. We don't know your doctor's refeeding plan, so we can't advise how soon you can have it.
When you are allowed to have it, be aware that it is a high calorie food. I try not to use peanut butter, but use PB2 instead. It's powdered peanut butter.. has had all the fat & oil removed. you can mix pb2 into protein drinks or mix it with water to make it like peanut butter again. :) You can also cook with it.
I buy it at Drug Emporium. Also available at netrition.com
