Get a fill and think you are too tight, but after a month it changes??
I am just curious about the experience others have after getting a fill. Often for as long as a month I have hade the feeling of, Man I have messed up because I am way to tight. I am usually patient and take it easy and don't try to force any food. Then within 6 to 8 weeks I am telling myself, hey I think I need another fill. Please share your experiences with me. Has anyone hit the sweet spot and if so how did you know it and how does it feel?
As you lose weight after your fill, your insides become smaller too...so it can loosen up over time. Also, the swelling in your pouch goes down which can affect the level of restriction as well.
For me personally, I have been at my "sweet spot" for 20 months but some people I have heard never reach that perfect restriction. I keep my band loose enough to enjoy the dense proteins I need to eat consistently, yet tight enough to help with portion control and keeping me satiated in between meals. This is *my* idea of the "sweet spot."
How much can you eat at one sitting? Do you stay full for 3-4 hours after a meal? These are things to consider when debating if you need a fill or not. Your surgeon should also be able to help you make that decision. Good luck!! :)

Our stomachs are constantly changing -- and so the band feels tighter at some points and looser at other times.
I would never go for a month thinking that my band was too tight ---- it can lead to slips, erosion and other terrible problems.
Your band should feel loose as you lose weight --- just like a belt around a pair of jeans, as you lose weight, it will need to be tightened to be effective.
I found that I needed fills every 3 - 4 weeks at first, and then less frequently after that.
About every 15 pounds of weight loss --- I needed a fill.
I also needed to go down a size of clothes at about the same rate.
I don't think that there is a 'sweet spot' -- more like a 'range of comfort' where I can eat all foods carefully, and have my appetite dimmed with small portions.
That range changes as my weight fluctuates.

Maybe I should have wordied it this way, after the fill I have to experiment again to find the foods that will agree with me. Also the amount of stress that I have in my life at that time will cause my band to be tighter. Then after a period of time it is too loose and I am hungrey all the time. Thank you ladies so much for your time and advice. I am determined that I will make it to my goal, but most important to me is that I will maintain it for the rest of my life. I have lost 100 pounds more than I can count, but turned around within 6 months and would have gained back 150 pounds. Thanks again ladies.
