Yes, that is my picture. :)  I had my surgery in Tijuana, MX by Dr. Francisco Gonzalez.  He's the BEST!  No problems with anesthesiologist - he was awesome too as was the experience.  I have heard of that surgeon you mentioned but can't comment on it since I have no personal experience.

Please read oln the Mexico forum on OH. There are some wonderful Drs. in Mexico. However there have been a lot of leaks and infections coming from Almanza. They are going by "Mt. Zion" now b/c Jeresulem "Hospital" got such a bad rep! The hospital is not a real hospital. It's in a shopping center that also has a lingerie/toy store in it. Someone posted on the main forum about it about a month ago. She also mentioned they had ants in the OR!

Also you might want to ask about Almanza on the VSG forum. A lot of them are familiar with him and his facility.

I have researched a revision surgery in Mexico since my Lap-Band is useless. Be careful what Dr. u use. Do NOT go with the lowest price!!!

Hi Darlis1! I am from Squamish (but currently living in Alberta). I had surgery in Tijuana in January of 09. I have lost over 80 pounds and couldn't be happier! Actually, I have referred friends and family members and have travelled back again with a few of them. It's not scary, just different from what we are used to. I have been to different hospitals and have met several doctors and am always very impressed with both the facilities and the staff. Go for it! It will change your life!!!! xo, Jody
