Been a rough couple of days

Got news from the doctor that I didn't necessarily want to hear, but its not too horrible. But the angioedema is back with a vengeance and its depressing me. Doc is doing some specialized testing and I need to see a rheuomtoid doc.

I don't know. Im normally pretty upbeat and accepting but Im not there right now. Opening Bendaryl capsules and emptying the contents on your tongue so it works faster while in the airport sucks. Every hour wondering if the hives are gonna get worse and should you head to ER sucks. Waking up engulfed in hives and itching sucks.

Im so over this.

And I have a life relationship problem with food I cant kick and need a fill.

Poor me, pour me, pour me a drink.

So I have avoided my morning new routine of posting before I leave the house, my schedule is all screwed up from the hospital runs. I am making myself post and I know its not gonna be exactly a yee haw post for people, so forgive me.

Im going to take a few more benadryls and some predisone and try to sleep the rest iof the night away.

I sympathize with you. I had really bad hives head to toe from an allergic reaction to pennecillin. They are awfull. Feel better soon!

I had those hives too...about drove me up a wall and back. My doctor gave me a cortizone shot and I had relief in a matter of hours! Sounds crazy but it really worked for me. Now, I'm in ABSOLUTELY no way suggesting this...just telling you what my doc did for me.

Keep your head held high and your spirits up for this too shall pass.

Best of luck....Carla

I got that from you, just relaying your experience :) Thanks so much. The frstrating part is this isnt typical hives, Its hereditary angioedema, although when in an emergency situation, benedryl, epi and steroids work to stop the wheels. I get the lab diagnosis some time next week or the week after, but Ive had it for thirty or more years and all my symptoms correlate and no allergen has been found,

My biggest worry is how will this impact my banding. One of the symptoms is internal swelling of the stomach intestines and esophagous, which would explain my flukey restriction. I dont want to borrow trouble but it is running around the back of my mind. I try to remind myself that we will cross that bridge when and if...

I will just have to take it a moment at a time and work on regaining my acceptance. You all have been awesome and kind. Thanks so much
