I saw the doc today and he said I have severe sleep apnea. The tech the night of my test said that I did well. What the heck was the tech a nut job? The doc said that on my side I stopped or slowed my breathing 27 times in an hour and on my back it was 49 times an hour. So now my new machine is on it's way:(

Actually the tech is not really allowed to give you results...They cannot diagnos..

I loved my Machine~~  Felt so much better after I started using it...
Good luck

The center was suppose to fit me for a mask if I had it before I left that morning and when my MIL and my friend went they were both told if they did or not.

 Ohhhhhh

That is different...
Where I went, when they put the mask on for the night, that was the fitting .
The tech adjusted the levels while I was  'sleeping' and that is how the doc was able to write a prescription for the therapy...

I didn't wear a mask. I had a bunch of wires and a nose oxygen thing that counted nasal breaths and mouth breaths. Like the oxygen thing you get in the hospital.

That is what I had the first night.  I had to go back and do the test with the cpap mask and they adjusted the pressure during the night to find the correct level for my at home machine.  I loved my cpap.  I slept much better with it and it actually retrained me to sleep properly.  My stepfather died at the age of 44 from sleep apnea...it is a good thing to have it diagnosed and treated.

I am excited for you to get the machine!!! Nothing prepares you for how good you will feel after you get caught up on the sleep you have been missing, I have had my machine a year, and would trade my husband before trading my cpap. Stick with it, you will be very happy with the outcome!

Hi,

If it makes you feel better, I had my sleep study about a month ago and it was worse. I slept a total of 110 mintues and I stopped breathing 59 times in 60 minutes. I have my machine and I feel so much better. I'm not up every hour at night and I feel more wide awake when I get up. I haven't had any problem getting used to it. I have learned that I am not a long sleeper. I only sleep 5-6 hours a night. I hope that you have good luck with your machine and that it helps you.

Thanks! If there was more time before my surgery I would go back for the test with the CPAP over night test. The doc felt that I could just get the machine and start it at home. I am looking forward to a good nights sleep.
