Hi Annette,

I think 60 pounds in one yr is awesome !!!

No, the band is not  easy lol.  I think though or it has for me in my short time to help me make better choices in food, learn to eat all my favorite foods in moderation and how often to eat them foods., to slow down , and ot eat smaller portions or I dont say smaller portions I say normal healthy portions lol.

I might lose slower eating this way or doing it this way but Im also learning some very valuable lessons along the way also :o)

I think if we can learn them lessons along the way then if something happens to our band then we are in a much better position to keep losing or to maintain our weight because we have now learned the tools for success :o) .

My first year I lost about 60 lbs.  I was also pleased.  It was not easy.  So congrats to you.  Keep up the good work.

I am about 18 months post op. I have never been at a sweet spot for very long. I spent a lot of time either hungry or getting sick. However, I have lost all the weight-107 pounds. I now choose to keep my band very loose. I had a large unfill after maintaining my weight for a few months. The band wasn't the tool I hoped it would be, but I am not sorry I did it. The expense and risk of surgery where huge motivators not to fail this time. Congrats on 60 pounds, that is great. Best wishes.

I am also 1 year out (6/1/10) and have lost 60 lbs. My high blood pressure went, I can bent over without groaning. I can buy "regular" clothing. I wear a 16 down from 22-24. Honestly, if I don't loose another pound I'm good with it. So I look at what I have gained, and I am completly happy with my results....The whole sweet spot thing is a myth, in my opinion. My sweet spot is in my head and I have found mine..

I had surgery one yr. ago this week. I lost 94 pds ain 9 months and am at goal weight. I am eating like a crazy person now and  can not seem to get under control. If I eat the rifgt things , I can't eat much, but candy and ice cream are calling my name. I know I have to stop this . I have not gained anything so far. I think I need a band for the brain.I don't know what to do. i get up every day thinking that I will be good today, and the next thing you know, I have eaten a piece of candy. My husband is bring in boxes of icecream and candy. Seems like I can't say NOOOO

Does your husband have a weight issue? Maybe his is consciously sabotaging you? Try to remember what you went thru a year ago. I know what you mean it's a slippery slope once you have lost enough weight to feel good about yourself. I think that is why people yoyo diet. Since I do the shopping I try to only buy things that do not derail me. I eat sugarfree fudgecicles and found that when I go shopping I say to myself :" Oh, but this icecream only has 100 calories"..totally ignoring the sugar content. I wish there was a willpower surgery :0.
My suggestion: Ask your husband why he has stopped supporting you? Maybe he is scared to lose you now that you are "skinny"??

Hope you work it out

When i am at that point I know I need a fill. I have found the sweet spot..wow this last one it tight..i am excited though. Never thought it would take a year to get hear. I finally have to eat very slow..I mean very..but i am not hungry it is amazing. I have to make sure i eat enough. Never in my life have i been there. lol McDonald's was my favorite food for years. Now I can hardly eat anything there and to be honest am not missing it much/When we do go I get the oatmeal..or some times a 4 piece chicken nugget..I now feel the fat on my lips when i try to eat Fry's..gross. I do not regret lap band at all..the hanging skin maybe lol.I am healthier then i have been in years. keep trying it is very hard..it does not fix our brain just our looks.
