1 Year Surgiversary!

Well, I'm a couple of days late but 5/26 was my 1 year surgiversary.  It's been a different year than I had expected.  I'm down 89 lbs.  I'm thrilled with that.  I was surprised to find how much of that I've done on my own.  Surely, I couldn't have done it without the band - but I didn't have restriction of any kind for the first 7-8month - and during that time I lost 60lbs.  When I finally did get restriction - I couldn't swallow water - so it did take some time to get to the right level.  I have to remind myself all the time to take tiny bites and chew slowly (especially if I'm really hungry).  I still get stuck every once in a while.  But, so far, my band and I are getting used to each other.  I am currently starring a production of Gypsy as Rose.  A part I would never had been able to play had I not lost the weight.  I've still got about 50lbs more that I would like to lose.  I am confident that I will get to where I want to be.  Hope everyone is doing well in their journeys.

You are doing great! Have fun doing Gypsy as Rose. That's great your doing something you wouldn't have done before.

Congratulations on your WL success AND snagging the role of Rose!  That's a big deal and as a fellow singer I know what it's like to have obesity cost you roles and confidence to perform.   Just last year I started singing on stage again as female lead on my churches Praise Team.  I lost the confidence to sing in front of people when I was 330 lbs because I was so paranoid about what people would think and the judgements, etc.  It's just one more thing that obesity deprived me of...my passion for music!  But no more, no more!
