Strange Insurance question
Your surgeon does call but YOU should too !!!!
I would ask what your deductables are and how much more is needed to meet them.
If you have a yearly maximum out of pkt amt both individual and family amts.
Make sure there is no WLS exclusions.
Make sure your hospital and Dr and anesthesiologist etc is covered and in network.
If you have a maximum yearly out of pocket amount you can just about bet that this surgery is going to max that out and have that ready to give them before your surgery.then everything else should be covered at 100 % except for like routine co pays on Dr visits. Ask about all of this because if your ins pays up to let's say 80% on everything they will want that most likely upfront. or they did at my hosptial. I was able to work out a payment plan on some of it but had to take a huge chunk of change with me before surgery. The yearly max is good b/c that means after you reach that amt out of pkt you are done for the ins calender year paying for things everything is covered at 100%. No one seemede to be aware of that until I reminded them so you that is why you need to know your own ins info and stay on top of it. If not it can cost you alot more money! :)

I have Bcbs of RI I called them and they told me max out of pocket is $2500 which $500 of this is my annual deductable. Most Dr/Hosptials will set up a payment plan if you ask.
In my opinon it will be worth the $2500! I am just starting on this journey and have all my appointments with in the next 14 days.

oh YES i would gladly pay, but I do need to about HOW much, also that carecredit already approved me for a nice amount, so that helps. i have no deductible with my plan, but i will be calling once I get with the actual DR. I don't go to the seminar until June 9, then I'll make my 1st real appt, but I am having a colonoscopy prior to make sure the body is clear to do all this and i have the dreaded talk with my GP, I have no clue if he will sign a letter saying "medically necessary" so I have alot to do, Started a journal.
