Day 5 out of surgery and I woke up feeling wonderful. I am so thankful for that. Got out of bed, with less soreness by the way,  and stepped on the scale and yes I did the happy dance!!! I know this is the healing phase but those pounds droppin are a bonus and I intend on celebrating each one.
I hope everyone has a fantastic Memorial Day and remember the real reason for today. Thank you active, retired and deceased military for protecting me and this great country!!
Ciao....Krista

Do celebrate each and every pound you lose!  The band is an awesome tool if you do your part and choose healthy foods and measure portion size.  Once your brain accepts that 1/2 cup of food at a time really IS enough, you will start adapting and the small portions will seem normal.  It takes some time, so measuring is REALLY important.  If you leave it to an estimation or aproximation of how much you should eat you will probably over-eat or under eat every time!  Our obese thinking makes it nearly impossible to properly calculate portion size without measuring.  And don't count on the band to control portion size for you, especially in the beginning.  It will accept or reject what you give it.  It's either too much, (and you'll pb, get stuck and risk causing damage), or it will be just enough if you learn to stop by listening to what your body is telling you.  Some describe fullness by a signal you get from your body.  It can be a burp, a hiccup, or even a sigh, but listen carefully and determine your stopping point.  Listen too your body or that last bite could be the one that puts you over the top.

Sorry I rambled on...you're doing great!  All I'm saying in a nut shell is measure your portions, take it slow and listen to what your body tells you.  Your body will speak louder as soon as you get restriction from fills.

Best~

Lisa,
You said EXACTLY what I needed to hear today.  I haven't been real good at measuring, and I've been getting stuck quite a bit lately.  And for those of you who haven't ever had a stuck episode.  Let me tell you - it's not fun!!!

This was the nudge I needed to start measuring EVERYTHING.
So, thanks!!!

Thank you! I have been diligent on measuring everything and following my Dr. orders to a 't'. I will make sure to continue doing this...

Keep that wonderful attitude. Celebrate all scale victories and NSV's too. This is definately a journey that is both the same AND different for everyone. Enjoy your Memorial Day also and I agree with you about remembering the REAL reason for the holiday.
