Hello, i haven't been on here for years... I have a question. I've noticed lately when i take my med's they like are burning my esophagus. Do you think i have a band issue?
Thanks - not sure what to do. I feel like i'm always going to a doctor for something but really don't want my meds to burn a hole in my lining!

I would try calling your dr and see what he says and see what kind of dr he would want you to see

When do you take them? I started having problems when I took my meds at night. I think it was because I was taking them then laying down and they didn't have time to go through. When I started taking them in the morning it go better.

My nut said to take my (MANY!) tablets cut in half if they are big, and to take them with some diet yoghurt instead of water. That might help you. But agree with previous post that seeing a doctor would be sensible.

Are you drinking plenty of water with your meds? I have to cut my tablets into small pieces and drink at least 1/2 cup of water with each one.

Towards the end of having my band this was an issue. Try taking them earlier with more water, if possible.  Also, DONT ASSUME that you can just cut your pills in half.  Some of the meds I was taking you could not crush or cut. You may have to have your Dr look into an alternative med or a liquid form.

I am on anti anxiety capsules and I have to take my medications or... well not good things happen.  As you cannot split capsules, do you think this would be an issue for me?  My mental health well being is far more important than my weight issue.  Feel free to chime in.

Thanx a lot!!

I would suggest talking to your phamacist about what meds can be cut or crushed, they are very knowledgable about the meds. Before I got my band I took a list of my meds to the pharmacist and asked her which were OK to cut and if not what to do about it. They can also tell you if there is a liquid form of the same med or an alternative med that will do the same thing.

Thanks for the replies. I've narrowed it down to either my tablet of metformine or my capsule of an anti-depressant that can't be cut.  I can cut the metformine up, I'll try that before calling the doc. If I take it with yogurt or oatmeal or something like that, the whole blob sticks, which is so painful. Sooo I have to one them to death to get them all in.

thanks!
