Takes Time for a Fill to Kick in??

I had my first fill on Wednesday of last week and feel no restriction or any different.  I hear some people say it takes a few days for their fill to kick in.  Is this true?  If so, how come it takes a few days - is there a medical explanation??

Ive heard that also. I havent experienced it myself but Ive seen many discuss it. Im not sure what the physics behind it may be but its pretty interesting.

It took a few fills before I felt restrcition (I initially had a food stick that caused me an unfill and I had issues with no restriction since) Im feeling it somewhat now. So try to be patient even though its hard. Some days I was so frustrated.

Thanks for responding.  I had 3cc put in and the Dr. said she didn't feel like this would be the stopping point for me.  It is frustration but I will succeed is my motto!

Thanks again.

Can't tell ya why it takes time for them to kick in because mine never did, I always felt mine right away once I felt some restriction. You will probably need several fills before you actually feel a difference so don't worry about not feeling it this time. It will come tho!

I was told that it could take from a few days to 3 weeks sometimes. I had one that went a full 2 weeks after the liquids. No one knows why but it happens. Good luck and hang in there.

I've had many a fill not kick in until weeks.  Just recently I had a fill and could eat fine.  Fast forward three weeks later, I could no longer eat any meat or eat any foods I ate on a regular basis.

I went back and had a slight unfill.....fine now.(could probably be a tad tighter though)

I don't have info on a fill taking a while to kick in but I do know about the first couple not feeling any different.  I had my surgery in December, first fill Jan 5th, second Feb 5th, Third Feb 28th.  I didn't have much weight loss and didn't feel restriction until my third fill.  Then it was really the fourth fill that gave me good restriction.  I was basically going by the diet and fear of damaging anything!  Hang in there.  I reached out here when I was frustrated.  Maybe it will take a couple of fills.  And, I have learned that my band changes from day to day.  And, I will say that my last fill was a little much for a couple of weeks but I guess the inflamation went down because it's at a good place now.   Bands are crazy!  :-)
