WOW!  I am reading this thread.  I really need to get my act together!  I have had my band for 5 1/2 months.  Really didn't hvae restriction until last fill first week of May.  I have lost 28 lbs so far.  i am okay with the results.  I don't feel like I am racing to the finish line.  BUT, I know my ffod is so unorganized and I knew logging on today would help me :-)
I don't weigh and measure.  My band is good right now but my snacking is bad.  I know that when my meals are good I snack less.  Part of my problem is I may have a meal that I have trouble with or i screw up and don't chew a bite well and then I am done.  Then of course, since I didn't have an appropriate meal I feel off for the rest of the day and end up eating here and there.
Also, I have kids and I tend to participate in their snacks, except mine are just picking here and there off their snacks..  WHEW!  I said it!  Feel free to ream me a new one but I would ove some tips!  I hear people talk about the foods they cant' eat and man I was hoping sugar would be one of them  for me!

Hi there!  Thanks for posting.  Congrats on the 28 lbs...that is fabulous!

As for the snacking, yeah it can make or break your weight loss.  What I do is plan my food for the day (usually the night before so I can prepare any snacks, etc for the next day) and that includes my snacks.  I feel if my snacks are already planned out, I will not need to deviate from my menu plan and eat things that are not in the greater good of my goal - a healthy, balanced diet.  There is no standing in front of the fridge and/or pantry with head hunger or actual hunger making bad choices, because I already know exactly what I'm eating at that particular meal/snacktime.  So its a done deal.

Also, this way, I am eating something every 2-3 hours so I never have an issue with hunger.  I have been doing this so long it is second nature to me now and it does take some diligence to get in the habit, but YOU are worth it, right?  There is no time like the present to make small changes towards your new lifestyle (this is forever, you know?) :)

As for me, I weigh and measure everything so that I know my numbers are accurate when I log them into my food journal - which is
www.myfitnesspal.com.  It also links to an app if you have a smartphone so you can log in anything, anytime, anywhere.  I love it - it really keeps things in perspective for me and if I gain a pound, I can look back and see exactly what changes need to be made to continue with my success.

Just a few suggestions.  Don't get discouoraged...small changes like this make a world of difference and YOU CAN DO THIS!  Good luck and keep posting here. :)
