Have a terrible cold & I've been eating JUNK!

I'm not proud of myself.

I've had a terrible cold for the past 4 days. Not only do I not really have much of an appetite, but everything tastes weird. I have absolutely no desire for "real" food, and I'm feeling a little tighter than usual. So what do I do? Instead of protein and veggies I've been eating all kinds of sugary junk food for the past 2 days. Ice cream, chocolate, cookies, etc.  I haven't been tracking my food, but I know my calories have been through the roof.

So now I have a bad cold AND I feel like crap from all this junk in my system.

I need to get back in the swing of things.

You can't go back and make a brand new start, but you can start from now and make a brand new end.

Don't beat yourself up over this.  We all do it.

What about some chicken or beef broth?  Or maybe some sugar free hot chocolate.

If you want to get in the protein, how about a protein shake.  You can put fresh or frozen fruit in those and be plenty full and it tastes so good even when you aren't hungry!!!!

And for an extra treat, make yourself some sugar free jello and drink it while its how.  Just make it as you usually would and instead of putting it in the frig, drink it. I know how good it is because our missionaries wanted something hot and sweet so we sent sugar free hot chocolate and jello.  Heated Crystal Light just isn't the same.

Now, get well soon and hopefully you'll get right back on track when you're feeling better.

LaWanda is right.  You know what you did, so make a conscious decision to start again - right now.  Step away from the junk food...

I'm always a fan of journaling, so why don't you write down what you're feeling and psyche yourself up to getting back on the bench.

You can do this!!!  We're pulling for you!!!!

I think when we are sick we tend to go for carb loaded foods and junk or comfort food. Myself I just indulge till I feel better then take off the extra pounds. Just don't let it give you permission to go crazy, oonce you feel better you'll be more likely to want those healthy foods again. We all have our days, just give yourself a break.

Thanks, everyone. I feel better today and it's actually been a relief to get back on track. I was up exactly one pound this morning (I weigh myself every Friday morning) - it could have been MUCH worse!!!
