Between 2005 and 2006 I was successful in losing 132 pounds by following the South Beach diet and taking a pretty orange pill that my doc had prescribed me for "narcolepsy".  I thought I'd lost the weight forever.  The lowest I got was 220 down from 352 pounds.  I had a brachioplasty, lower body lift and breast lift with implants.  Then I proceeded to gain all of my weight back, up to 338 pounds.  UGH

However, that being said, my arms are still tight and my stomach is still flat, and the boobs are still perky.  Go figure. LOL

Except for my arms, which I love, I would not get plastic surgery again if I had the choice.  While I feel I look normal there are large portions of my skin that are still numb.  I can't feel anything below my belly button to my pubis and the incision areas on my arms are still numb.  My breasts never regained their sensitivity and that was especially saddening to me.  I didn't look horrible with clothes off, my panni didn't hang down even below my pubis.  My arms bothered me the worst and of course my breasts were deflated.  But all in all I wasn't a sight.  I just thought it was something I had to do to close that loop.  I don't know what I will look like when I lose this weight again, who knows, it may all shrink right back.  But even if it doesn't, I'm going to love the new saggy me.

Just my opinion of course, YMMV.

Wow, that is truly something to consider... I never thought that would be a possible side effect of having excess skin removed... Thanks for sharing your story... I wish you the best of luck.

I do not want another surgery but the saggy ,dimply skin bothers me too .:( I am more self concious now than when I was bigger. I am hoping that the whole give it at least a year after hitting goal (which I have not yet) thing and see how it goes works for me.LOL That and alot of moisturizing :D
But I can already tell with age and wt fluctuations I am gonna need an update to the twins ! LOL

I had brachioplasty (upper arm lift) and a breast lift last November.

I was within about 10 pounds of my goal weight, and we decided that the remaining weight was not going to come from those places.

I am very pleased with the results -- the smaller upper arms and breasts make my frame look much smaller.

My upper thighs are not pretty --- so I wear bermuda length shorts (I am 53 years old, I am never going to try to wear short-shorts).

I was saving for a tummy tuck --- but have decided that I am not going to do it.  The cost/pain/risk is just not worth it to me --- I am married to a great man who loves me just as I am and I am learning to live with what I see in the mirror.

PS -- I paid about 8,500.00 for the plastics and 12,000 for my Band  -- best money I ever spent.

I lost 107 pounds and was left with saggy skin and deflated breasts. I have had a tummy tuck/boob job and a facelift. I would do it all again in a heartbeat, very happy with the results. Recovery was not that bad, even with a complication with the tummy tuck. I retained tons of fluid and he had to go back in to take care of it. Next is my arms but I am taking a little break.

Under Forums there is a plastic surgery board. You may find help there. Also, there is a great web-site, makemeheal.com that has a lot of info. Your body will change as time goes on. Sometimes it can take up to a year or more for it to tighten up on it's own. I had a panniculectomy(tummy tuck without muscle tightening)  before WLS (long story) had not problems.
