Congratulations, Kate!  You have been an inspiration to me for the 2+ years I've been part of this forum.  I appreciate your practical approach to life banded and your determination to not let food rule you any more!

I'm practicing using your approach to normal eating and know how hard that other 20% of the time, (when I'm not eating healthy), is to maintain WL.  I agree that vigilence is the key to sucess.  I know that when I don't get on the scale daily, that's when I NEED to get on the scale because it usually means I've been on a spree.  Like many of us here, I tend to avoid the forum and the scale when I know I'm not doing what's best for me and start eating with wild abandon like the old days!

This is just one of many things I've learned from you!  Thank you for your constant presence on this forum.  I know it's  hard to read some of the non-constructive criticisms but the newbies need us!  I can't imagine what my journey would have been like without you, Jean and Bette, (just to name of few), of the elder states-women that so generously gave your time and shared your experiences, (good and bad).

God bless you!

Thank you for this post.  It was a great help to people like me who are at the beginning of this journey and wonder what the long term can hold.  It is a real inspiration to know it can be done and success is possible in the long term.

I just want to say that I hope you occasionally come on this board along with the other grads because you have insight many can't have yet.  Those of you a year or more out make great educators of the band. Congrats to you and I wish you health and happiness.

Kate, you are one of the people that inspired me to get my band originally and have continued to inspire and educate me for the last 2 years.  I hope to maintain my loss and be deemed as successful as you are at 5 years out.  Thank you for your contributions to this board, my little British butterfly! :)
