For the 3+ years I was a bandster, the band forum was nothing but sunshine and rainbows. You guys are by far the most positive group of people on this website. Honestly. But when someone throws anything negative, you guys flip out. You flip out or you put your fingers in your ears and sing "LA LA LA LA LA...."
I love the positivity on this forum and I will continue to help bandsters in need. But now that I have been around the block with various surgeries, I have a more realistic view and approach. And so do others.
What's my point? Just because we're offering advice that does not fit the cookie-cutter responses typical to this forum doesn't make us bad people. We just differ in opinions.
I am glad that newbies receive all aspects of successes/failures. I took all of it in and contemplated all possible scenarios when researching my own revision surgery. BUT, when "informing" others of their experience haphazardly turns into "insulting" others for making their own decision, well that is just flat out wrong.

I just wanted to point it out to you that the Florida chick just started a new thread and I am sitting on my hands while I type this out with my feet.
Melly, thanks for this post that was my original intent before the claws began to fly. I know people here think I am 20 different people and honestly that is fine believe what you want. That was not the point of me standing up for someone I felt was treated unfairly. What it did do was show me and several others that when batting up for someone everyone else is against regardless of what is said and done it is better to keep it to yourself and let that person be the only victim. Hopefully that changes but mob-mentality rarely does.
Have a wonderful day.
I lurked on this sight for over a month before I created my account. By the time I created the account, I felt like I knew everyone, reading their posts everyday for so long. There was some huge board drama going on at the time. I didn't have a pic up yet, as I am computer illiterate, and couldn't figure out how to shrink a pic.
Anyway, everyone was suspicious of me, all of the regulars then were the ones that started the Grads Board. Although I could understand why they were suspicious of me, it did make me feel unwelcome. So, if you are a regular on this board and chose to create a profile to defend the Florida woman, or if you are the Florida woman, it doesn't make a differnce to me.....I just wish the childishness would end.
Get back to supporting!! LOL

People can join and post here immediately...posts are not held for moderator approval. Yet another false claim.
In any group of a hundred people, there are probably 2 or 3 sociopaths. In a group of a thousand, more like 20-30. They function very well in "affinity groups," where people have things in common and tend to trust strangers. I am NOT saying not to trust anyone. I AM saying that there are probably two dozen sociopaths hanging out here and looking for victims. Most are NOT serial killers.
