In any group of a hundred people, there are probably 2 or 3 sociopaths. In a group of a thousand, more like 20-30. They function very well in "affinity groups," where people have things in common and tend to trust strangers. I am NOT saying not to trust anyone. I AM saying that there are probably two dozen sociopaths hanging out here and looking for victims. Most are NOT serial killers.

Do not begrudge an old woman her entertainment. (I had AT LEAST 25 phone calls from my mother, who has dementia, just yesterday. Today, I've only had five or six so far...the last being to report the giant cricket in her room...it was the portable phone announcing it had lost its charge...close enough when you've got dementia. I was formerly on a different forum site asking for assistance in finding bariatric surgeons in the Jacksonville FL area. I have talked with Dr. Baptista's office and they recently tripled their rates. I am self pay have had the band for 3 years. When I stated on my last forum about Dr. Baptista's rate increase I was brutally attacked in the forums, harassed, called awful names, accused of things I never thought possible etc.
I was having some complications recently after being 3 years post op and went to the ER as recently as last night where because I can eat and drink they refused to do anything but tell me to find a Dr. I am more than willing to go more into my situation but would rather do so privately as previously I was ridiculed and would like to prevent that.
So far the only Dr.s I have heard great things about are Baptista (who I can't afford) and Cywes (which I am waiting to hear back from the program coordinator). If anyone else could offer some words of wisdom regarding their surgeon; I have a list of phone numbers I can easily cold call but I feel personal experiences from other patients are MUCH more helpful.

Tiffany walked away from this bull**** good for her I'm following her lead with BOTH accounts. Hope ya'll don't believe in Karma.

A member of the site during which time she hadn't posted or blogged since she joined 3 years ago...I checked out her profile.
She was a member of this forum for 3 years. I can't see waiting around on a forum for 3 years to scam people. I read her original blog. My vote despite the NM Bandwagon: She was being honest even if she was misinformed about a few things and possibly worried more about the money side over the health risks.
If what she said about her ex is true then I could see why anyone would focus more on the money risks than the health risks. She needs to get to an ER and I hope she does and I hope she finds a support group who will actually support her, although I doubt she ever will considering what happened here. I would be afraid to ever ask for anything too.

She asked for a different Dr. for whereever she is at. Someone gave her a name and she called them. I'm sorry I see that as making an effort not playing the victim. IMO you are offended your surgeons office (not your actual surgeon) was called out and felt that she was attacking you and not simply complaining about one person who works in the office and the price change. Your claws came out and now you are doing everything you can to manipulate people and continue stirring the pot so that you do not have to admit you're over-reacted to something that had nothing to do with you personally.

Would a physician office admit to treating someone badly to a patient they are not familiar with, even one they are familiar with? Common sense people.
I did not ask about her specific conversation, I asked about new patient pricing and whether it had been raised recently. I was told the exact same thing that he raised his prices because he was recieving more transfer patients due to his being cheaper.
NM you were wrong, woman up and admit it.

NM I actually thought the same as you did hence the reason I called after she was so persistant. She was not being dishonest, it was a legitimate complaint that until you attacked her others were even agreeing with. She never stated the surgeons she called refused to help her she stated she could not find a surgeon willing to assist her without her medical records. Which would be correct.

This post is a blatant lie, since others have called the doctor's office and gotten accurate and consistent information regarding the costs which are much, much less than stated by Tiffany.

She didn't seem dishonest to me, she seemed sincere and like someone who need support from others who have been where she is at.
NM, I am sorry it's nothing personal but you started a ton of drama needlessly and caused the entire issue. Now you ladies sit here and gloat. I have no desire to be attacked by you ladies and therefore made a whole seperate account to spare myself from feeling the way you made Tiffany feel.
