How Often Do You Weigh Yourself?

I've been there with the multiple times per day... not good for me at all anxiety-wise!

You are right - that's an excellent article.  Though, I would absolutely freak out if the scale showed a 10lb increase in one day.  LOL!

Thanks~!

Initially, I weighed only at the doctors office, per their request. Then as time passed, 2 plus years to be exact, I weighed at work. Now I weigh at work and the gym, and they are the same.Trying to decide if I should buy a scale too.

Your weight fluctuates too much in a 24 hour period.  I think it's best to do it once a week.  I do it once a week on the same day at the same time.  Because I workout and weight lift I realize I may lose inches and not pounds I also measure myself on the first of every month.

I also take a picture of myself every month.  I have trouble looking in the mirror and seeing the weight loss.  I still see an obese woman.  So when I take pictures and compare them then I can see the difference.  I have the oldest picture on the fridge along with the newest picture so I can see every day how much weight I have lost.

I weigh every morning. I don't weigh myself to see what I've lost, I weigh myself to make sure I don't gain any weight back.

You know, I never thought of it that way, but that's an excellent approach to take.  I will bear that in mind when I get close to my goal.

Thanks alot~!

Edited:  Changed "if I get close to my goal" to "when I get close to my goal".  Thinking positively...

I have to agree with ms lisa (go girl with that 200 lb weight loss by the way )....I weigh daily and record once a week. I haven't started with the measurements yet, but I'll start that soon. Just do what works for you but remember what others said...weight fluctuates during the day so don't get discouraged!

I'm like Pumpkin... I weigh myself every morning just to keep myself in check.  It's very easy to fall off the bandwagon and give into temptations.
I've been at goal for almost a year, I've been losing weight again recently because I am in training to run a 10 mile race in August so following the bandster rules closely.

Take care all!
Jan

all the weight has been lost post-op..I LOVE MY BAND!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

highest weight: 333 pounds (I know I gained after my last "weigh in" in the doctors office so probably it's more like 340 pounds)
current weight: 151 pounds (7/12/11)
I've been at goal (165 pounds) for 6 months now and now on maintence.  I tend to go up and down depending on time of the month and such!
