How Often Do You Weigh Yourself?
Ok, so I'm 2 weeks post-op and today I'm experiencing a bit of anxiety over my (unhealthy) relationship with the scale. I can't seem to stop weighing every morning, so I'm trying to figure out what that's about.
Right now, it not causing alot of drama because I'm losing at a pretty good clip. My fear is that when the weight loss slows, I will really start tripping when those numbers don't move. In the past, I've gotten really depressed when I've stalled or stopped losing on any number of the failed weight loss attempts I've made over the past 25 years.
I stopped seeing the therapist I had before the surgery (my trust issues kept me from getting comfortable with her) so I guess I'd better get busy finding another one before I actually go through it.
How often do you guys weigh yourselves? Trying to get a gauge for exactly how far gone I am.
I weigh daily, but I only record it once a week. It doesn't mess up my day when the numbers aren't kind to me.
I do understand though because after a year, my rate of loss slowed way down and I got a bit unhappy about that. I decided to start taking my measurements. I now get my husband to measure me as close to the first of each month as we can.. and do it on a day I have not worked out and preferably in the morning before I've eaten very much.
Altough the scale may not move much, or at all.. with measurements I can see the changes... and it's nice to see the downward slope on a chart (except for the bust measurement.. that one could slow a bit.. LOL).
I know some people who keep the scales in the garage so that they have to go outside to weigh. ::grin::
That keeps them from getting on them constantly.

I didn't either (take measurements at the beginning) cause I was afraid it would throw me into a bad depression.
Do you know what size you wore before surgery & wl? I know I wore a 5X at Catherines and used that as my baseline. Or you could measure the waistband/chest area of some clothes that fit back then and get a good idea of your starting place. :)

Once a week; every Sunday morning. I found that when I first started I was weighing myself 10x+ a day and it was VERY unhealthy. I stopped that habit quickly as seeing a 0.2lb gain on the scale would send me up the wall.
Realize that your weight can go up 10lbs in one day.

Once I hit my goal weight, I do plan to weigh myself everyday again as I want to put on muscle; so daily weighing is a must to get a weekly average.
