Hi All,
I heard this joke in thrid grade and for some reason thought of it as I am writing this post.  :-)  (it's not that bad!)

Anyhow, I start my 5th week post op today.  I was wondering if anyone else had experinced lower back pain?  My knees always ached before the surgery and feel a little better now with some minimal weight loss, but my lower back just aches everday.  Any ideas why anyone?   (I see my surgeron next week, but curiosity is killing me now!)

Sometimes we tend to blame all aches, sniffles and tingles on the band.  It might not be band related at all.  Are you PMSing, possibly?  Slept wrong?  Could be a ton of things.  Hopefully, nothing serious!

You are right it could be anything, but I am feeling it after havin been banded.  I don't blame the band per say, just wondered if anyone had a similar experience.  I also use to take alleve for my knee and now can't, so maybe it's arthriris.............just wondering.

 It could be gas from your surgery.  I felt pain in my shoulder for about month after I had my surgery.

I first thought you were just being rude/silly, but you many someting there! 

The surgeon uses gas to expand your abdomen during sugergy so that the stomach is more visible.   I couldn't even wear my trusty girdle after surgery.  I would put one on and the tightness would push the gas up, the pain was immediate!.   Some people that have had lapband surgery will experience pain in the neck, shoulder or bac****il all of the gas from the surgery disappears.

Constipation

Just in case it is the band you should document it on a calendar. I remember complaining about back pain before my MVA, Now I am sure it is my band.
