To the New Bandsters
I keep seeing posts about not losing or feeling full etc right after surgery or even a few months out. I had surgery on Dec. 16th, 5 months ago. I have followed the rules and only lost 21 lbs. I was so frustrated it wasn't funny.
I have learned how this band works now.I am here to tell you do NOT GET FRUSTRATED. It takes some people months to get a proper fill to begin your weight loss. I have had 5 small fills , each only about 1/2 cc at a time after my first initial one and I am finally at a good spot now. My Doc is more conservative with fills and actually I am glad he is, it gave me lots of time to learn to chew properly, learn portion control, etc.
So don't get frustrated, give it time and get use to your new friend. I know I have a lot of learning to still do with mine but I will get there. CONGRADS to all the new Bandsters out there and everyone else who had great success with their bands.

Well-said! It takes time....... stalls, plateaus, etc. It's part of the process.
I'm 5 mos. out had my surgery 12/15/10 and down 40 lbs my last visit to the doctor..When I do what he tells me 3 meals no snacks and excercise I lose. When I eat more than I know I should i slow down the weight lost. I only have 1.75 in my band and don't need more. I get full fast and mostly feel satisfied. The only thing is I don't do any excercise. I come home from work and thats that. I keep saying I will. The chronic pain and meds.keep me from doing what I want. Some days are easy for me to do a little more body movement other days not. The weight comes off but not more then 1-2 lbs. week and thats what my doctore said is right where I'm supposed to be..I'm 67.
