OT: Need to vent about crappy apartment management and neighbors

I need to vent.  I am so pissed off at the management at the apartment complex that I live in now.  Luckily, at the end of the month, I will be out of here!  Following is a list of the reasons why I hate this place:

We've had maintenance problem after maintenance problem that does not get fixed; the toilets didn't work when we first moved in; it took over a month and a half and call after call to get them out to look at a leaking toilet; after the third maintenance request, we were told that they couldn't get in because they didn't have a key; we have mold coming up through the carpet; the dishwasher has never worked; the light fixture's like to fall out of the ceiling; the doors have visible cracks between the frame and the door; the air filters never get changed; they have not once IN TWO YEARS sprayed for bugs; management likes to leave nasty, threatening letters on your door instead of contacting you personally if there is an issue; management just seems to be incompetent in general i.e. when we applied at another complex to get out of this hell hole, it took multiple calls from me, my roommate, and the leasing agent to get them to fax a rental history.

Now let’s get into the issues with neighbors.  Apparently, my roommate and I are crappy to live by because two particular neighbors just love complain about us.  The week my mother came up to stay with me after my surgery last year, we got a letter on the door saying that someone had complained because we moved in an unauthorized occupant and were in violation of our lease. Seriously? She'd been here all of three days when that happened!  I was spending most of the day in a daze from the surgery and the pain meds.  I mean, it was my mom, not someone partying!

There was a complaint about throwing cigarette butts on the ground.  Neither of us smoke!  We got a letter about leaving garbage outside the door the ONE time I forgot to take it as I was leaving, never mind the neighbors across the hall who piled up bag after bag that leaked against the rail and dripped on people as they were coming up the stairs.

Then today, I get home to find ANOTHER note on the door saying that a noise complaint had been made earlier in the day.  NO ONE WAS EVEN HERE!  My roommate and I were both at work!  Who the hell was supposed to be making all of the noise?

All I can say is THANK GOD we are moving out at the end of this month.

Thanks!  My roommates mom has lived in the complex we are going to for several years and she loves it there.  Honestly, anything will be better than this.

Yuck...I don't miss those days at all!!! 

On the plus side, you now know what to look for before you sign the lease!!  (Flush all toilets, run faucets, look for mold, funny smells...if there is attic space, check it out....listen for neighbors...
