As most of you know I join WW. It is my last attempt at doing it without WLs or my Pre-surgery diet. So I followed all the rules this was my first week and my weight was exactly the same. I logged every piece of food that went into my mouth. I eat at or a little below my points. Just so mad! I needed to vent. I guess this is exactly why the band is calling my name.

Just curious, if your body will not let you lose weight on the WW diet, what makes you think the diet you will be on with the band will let you lose weight?
I'm not trying to be mean here, I really don't, but common sense should tell you when restricting calories don't work it doesn't matter if the band is there or not.
Because every one here will tell you "The band does not make you lose weight, it just helps you eat less".
Apparently your metabolism is slow or messed up so diet alone will not help.

Please think about this very hard before you decide on this even more expensive diet.

I wish you well with whatever you decide.
Good luck

Inge makes a good point.  I was in the hospital for an emergency surgery - on nothing but IV for 5 days and I GAINED seven pounds!!  Talk about messed up metabolisms...

Are you exercising?  I can be really good with my food choices and portions, but if I don't work out, I don't lose weight.  It's always a good decision to get ourselves moving everyday.

Good Luck.

One week?  It could be water retention, the foods you chose vs. how much, etc.  Give it more time but stick to the plan.  Also, the free fruit thing... be cautious.  There is a lot of sugar in fruit.  It's better than chocolate, bu****ch it if you want to get the best possible results.  Also, frozen foods, canned foods, etc.  have a ton of sodium.  If that's something you are eating, beware fo the water retention from sodium.

If you reduce your calories and exercise to create a deficit you will lose weight.  Don't let this deter you from getting or not getting the band or what ever WL surgery you decide is best.  Give it more time.

Best~
