Just keep swimming just keep swimming... I say it all the time...  to me its more... the motto...just keep going, just keep going.... I do however spend a great amount of time in the pool doing water aerobics (about hr every day)  ....anyhow... i go through swim suits like made...for a long time it was because my size kept changing...now its that to some degree but also just wear and tear....  well I was told that a local store had just receievd a shipment of nice suits but they were last years models so would be really cheap... Im like uhhh YA.... my abs or hips have YET to complain about a suit model.... (Okay.. the girls have..but thats because people think that if you are a size 4-6 u have no boobs....which is not the case for me)

ANYHOW..... I go into the store with just a few minutes and BAM...I three suits I want to try on... so without looking at sizes really (they were jumbled up size wise) I took them too the dressing room and tried them on....First one....SCORE  size 4 ....Second one SCORE ...size  14-16?  wait huh? I look at the size again and put the suit on ...its actually a bit snug....

I know it shouldnt matter about the number on the insdie...but i wanted to cry... I had somehow gone from a 4 to 16? (okay, I admit it, I panicked a little because I am never going back to size 30)  I quickly checked the tag of the third suit....size 10,  okay, probably too big but would be room for the girls for sure right? (Top of suit didnt have support linner so ...idk about this one...) Running out of time i quickly put suit on and look in mirror....OMG I have back muffin top!  IN AN 10!  I stare for a minute and then take the suit off and sit down...blaming the suit i drop it to the floor....DANG size 10 staring at me.....

Okay...so pop me... this is where I talked a little junk to myself..you know the things we are never suppose to say....but as I started telling myself how somehow I must have really screwed up if I had to have a 16 now and had a muffin top again at 10....my head was hung and I looked at the suit tag... "Bobby Lee Jr Miss size 10".  Okay wait...back up the happy truck......   "Jr Miss?"  Dear Lord I had put on a little girls swim suit.. both it and the 16 were suits for young girls!   lol left the store with two suits, one a womans 4 and one a girls 14-16...but im okay with that...they are just numbers right? :)  I think thats what we have to remember, they are just numbers and while we say we understand that, and that its all about how we feel about ourselves and working toward our goals.... somehow I dont think anyone here wants to put on a suit thats 10 sizes bigger than where you are now.  Will I giggle a bit inside everytime I wear the 16? lol yes but hey it does fit and it was very cheap :) So I should be set with suits for 2.5 months at least :) woot :)

Just keep swimming,

LOL somehow I knew that was coming even before I got to the end.  And yeah, they are just numbers.  But heck those numbers can mess with our heads bigtime.  Whether they are numbers on a scale, the clothing tags or our age, those numbers tend to try to make us identify ourselves!

Good for you in a junior bathing suit!!!! Rock that size!

Okay wait...back up the happy truck......

LOL!

Occasionally at JCP I'll find something cute on the clearance rack in the juniors department and then discover it's a little girl's garment once I'm in the fitting room with it. This past winter I felt very smug because I fit into a girl's XL top...but after spending more time in the children's dept., I've noticed that they're making clothes for some very big little girls nowadays...kinda scary...so I got over my smug attack pretty fast!

Great Story!  I know I'm not supposed to let the numbers affect me...but in reality they do.  It's numbers like weight, blood pressure, size, cholesterol, etc. that affected our decisions for WLS.  At least it was for me.  Now it's important for all those numbers in my life to GO DOWN.

My 4'11" sister likes to buy her jeans in the little girls dept.  She says they are cheaper there.  Which is an NSV of another kind.  I hope I get to shop in the little girls section someday!  Congrats!
