hi tomorrow I am scheduled to have my first fill.
However today at 2 am i had a severe pain, i think it may have been gas.
I do not have it now but wanted to know if it could have been the okra i ate yesterday at lunch.
i thought you would have a bad reaction within 15 minutes after eating?
also what should i be prepared for tomorrow for my first fill?
thanks.

Nothing you can really do to prepare. Just relax and don't forget to breathe! :)  You will be on liquids for 1-2 days after your fill depending on your doctor.

My doc puts a pillow under my lower back and has me lift my chin to my chest to tighten the stomach muscles. Then he feels for the port, puts the needle in and is done. It seriously takes about 15-30 seconds. The first time is the hardest because you have no idea what to expect. By my third fill it was old news and no big deal. Doc will also have you drink some water before you leave to make sure he didn't add too much.

My husband has his first fill on May 26th. The dr. told him to not eat any food for 4 hrs before the fill only liquids...

I eat normally before a fill and then liquids for 1-2 days after.

My doc says no solid food for 3 hours before and only liquids for 24 hours after. I usually try to extend the liquids out a little longer if I can, just to give the weight loss a little extra boost
