I had chest pain while still in the hospital. They were having me drink so many CC's every 15 minutes and it hurt like hell. I finally decided to drink smaller amounts and this was all it took to stop those chest pains.
Sounds like the liquid is "circling the drain" slower due to swelling.

Didn't your dr give you a diet to follow after surgery?? Mine gave me a diet and told me to start trying out high protein drinks before my surgery so I know which ones I like as I'll be drinking a lot of them. They said something like 60g of protein a day, which is crazy, but gotta do it to maintain muscle balance. So for 2 weeks anything liquid low in sugar/fat and protein drinks. Then 2 weeks pureed stuff, which I can't stand, so I'm not sure what I'm going to do when that hits. I hate broth too-eeks...my surgery is next week. Good luck. Stupid question here-but do you feel like there is something not right inside? When I had my gallbladder removed I actually felt a little pocket-really weird, not supposed to happen, but I felt it for about 3 weeks. So I'm wondering since the stomach is near the muscle surface of the abdomen if you would be able to feel that there is something there.
I had my surgery on the 5th and I do feel like there is something different inside. Im getting used to it though. Its not so drastic that you just want to get it out of there. The only thing that is really painful for me at all is the incisions. When I move it feels like theyre ripping. Other than that it is all that hurts. Also, its really hard to get down all the protein that you need. I recently found a protein pudding that will give you a little bit more of the daily protein that you need. its sold at vitamin shoppe.
