I wanted to hear the stories of long term bandsters? Is there anyone who has been banded for 8,9, or10 years? Does anyone know of a forum or blog from people who have had there band that long or longer (I know in the US it is only at about 10 years)?

I think I have seen one or two around, but I can't remember their names. If I see them I will direct them over to you.

What do you mean by this? Are you saying that the band will only last about 10 years, or that the longest anybody in the US has had a band is about ten years?

I read that as she is just looking for long term bandsters. I know of people who were banded in the late 90's, but they don't have their bands anymore.

I thought that the band had only been done in the US for a little over ten years. If I am mistaken then I'm sorry thanks for correcting me. That is what most of the stuff I read indicated.

Jessie Ahroni who posts on Smartbandsters has had hers about 10 years or so.

I think Cynthia on the DFWBandsters group has had hers about that long too.

Just join those groups to talk to them.  You'll have to make a yahoo email account if you don't already have one, but that's easy.

Hope to see you there.  I'm a member of both groups.

Do you want to hear the stoies of people who are no longer banded 10 years out or just those who are still banded ?

I have a friend(s), but they are no longer banded due to complications. One was banded late 90's and one was in the early 2000's I was banded in 2006 and was just told by my PCP as well as my pain management doctor that it is time for it to come out.

The band was only approved for use in the US in 2001. It has been in use in other countries a lot longer.

I'm one of the oldest-timers here, and will have been banded 8 years in December (surgery date 12/03/03).

Banded 10 years & maintaining my weight loss!! Any questions, message me.
