3 Months Out
Today is my 3 month check-up for my lap band surgery. I'm both nervous and excited. I'm allergic to the stuff they use to numb you for a fill, so I get my first fill without that, so that's a little scary.... plus I'm a little anxious about my weight loss. I've stayed EXACTLY the same for over 2 weeks. I can pig out or not eat nothing and the numbers on the scale don't change. However, I am down 30 pounds already. Is that normal? Too little? I am in need of reassurance today haha. I also really think I need to stop weighing myself EVERY day. It was just so exciting in those first weeks when I saw the weight drop every day. But now it isn't doing anything but discouraging me. Sorry for the rambling post... just needed to let it out somewhere I knew people would understand.
Hello
First I wanted to tell you 30 lbs is good. Next I want to tell you there is no normal. Everyone is different, some are fast losers and some take time and lose slowly. I am a slow loser. I am more than 2 years out but I have lost 150 lbs. So who cares if it's taking me 6-12 months longer than another person to lose it. I'm still thrilled I am losing weight and I still feel great and have lots of energy. I don't care that it has taken me longer and I'm sure you wouldn't either. Cheer up we all have different journeys. Just make sure you are following your surgeon's rules and diet. Make sure you are exercising and I am sure you will be a BIG loser!!! hahaha!!!
As far as the numbing stuff. My doctor has never used that and I have had 9 fills. I feel no more than a small poke and that's it. It takes my doctor about 3-5 minutes beginning to end and it's done. Don't worry, you will see it's nothing to worry about.

Congrats on your 30 pounds! That's great!
Set small behavior related goals and celebrate when you achieve them. The scale doesn't always cooperate.
