My NUT asks that we avoid 'gummies'.  I tried a couple of chewables and did not like that texture (I was never a fan of chewables even before being banded).

Right now, I'm taking Centrum liquid (available at WalMart).

Good luck~!

I was told by my doctor that gummi vitamins weren't the best idea as they could cause discomfort if they aren't chewed up enough. I know Centrum makes a chewable vitamin with iron. I plan on just using Flinstone vitamins (2xday) and an extra iron pill daily since I have iron deficiency.

BTW, I know many varieties of chewable vitamins are available at drugstore.com ... perhaps just browzing that site will give you some ideas. Best of luck!

My surgeon and my pcp advise me to use Adult Centrum Chewables.  I know some people use flintstones, but my doctors say they just aren't sufficient for adults.

I take the Centrum with a chewable vitamin C to help the iron absorb and to help the taste.  The centrums aren't the greatest tasting in the world, but I'm not taking them for flavor.  LOL.

For calcium, I use Bariatric Advantage Calcium Citrate.  We're advised to use Calcium Citrate as it is better absorbed in the absense of food.  BA brand is the one I like best.. but Celebrate also makes a good chewable Calcium Citrate.   Ask the companies for samples.. some will send you some free and others will charge a nominal amount.

I tried some of the chewable vitamins, and found them not just bad but horrible.  I know gummies are not recommended by most docs, but that's my choice and I chew each one to the extreme, and swallow in small amounts ( a trick I've learned because I still forget and take too big bites.)  But they are very good, and I look forward to them in the mornings.

trader joes has a good chewable multivitamin.  You can also get the centrum in generic and it works just as well.  I recently started taking flaxseed oil.  It's disgusting! I pop two capsules in a shot glass of juice and drink it fast while holding my breath.  It's friggin nasty!!!!  Anyhow, it's great for the skin, hair and nails and also works to help keep you regular (instead of mineral oil or Milk of Magnesia) and the benefits outweigh the grossness of it.

Regarding the flaxseed oil:  Have you tried using flaxseed?  I grind it in my coffee grinder and add it to cottage cheese or yogurt.  I think it's tasty that way.
