I just jogged 1 mile without stopping at a nearby park. I didn't think I could even do a 1/2 mile and I surprised myself. It was pretty slow, 11 minutes, but OMG, I DID IT! My DS and DD encouraged me to give it a try and they went with me. DS was way ahead, but DD stayed with me until the last stretch!
It's just amazing that on Spring Break I climbed to the top of the climbing wall at the climbing gym, and now I just "ran" a mile without stopping. Sometimes we can do more than we think we can.

I wish you luck on your journey to better health. I just started out with slow, short, easy walks and slowly progressed. Walking is a great exercise!

Wow, that sounds like a ways off, but it would make a great goal for me.
You could do it! If you can jog a whole mile, you can run/walk a 5K. I'm not up to jogging a mile at a time yet, but I'm doing a 5K today. I'll run a bit and then walk fast.. then run some more.. over n over. It will take me probably close to an hour.
If you can jog a mile straight, you're further along than me!
