Had my lap band 6 days ago and today I woke up feeling horrible and it has continued all day. I actually had to take a Phenergan. Any ideas? Is it normal? Thanks in advance

Are you drinking enough fluids?  If you get dehydrated you will get nauseated.  Can you describe what horrible means?  Pain, gas, weakness, dizziness, etc????

I'm with ya sister.  I'm 2 days post-op, and I feel retched.  I have terrible gas pains, bloating, and nausea.  I don't feel like eating or drinking a thing!  I'm trying to take sips to stay hydrated but I am way behind the 64 ozs because I feel so sick.  Someone please tell me it gets better.

Horrible...well, overly tired, nauseous, hungry, sore.I feel like I'm not getting in food with much nutritional value or all my water. I think I over did it yesterday and today was my day to pay for it. I'm trying to cut back on the pain meds, that and all I did yesterday may have been just too much. My large insision is very sore today....tomorrow is a new day so I have high hopes! Thanks y'all

Take meds for nausea and then it will be easier to get your fluids in.  Resting is important and then taking short frequent walks.  I promise it will get better!  Hang in there and believe!

It might be too soon to cut back on pain meds.  I know I felt horrid for a good 2 weeks where most seem to pop back up in a few days.  :(

Keep up the Phenergan AND walk And drink water.  Even if the walks are just 10 minute paths through your residence.  It does get better.

I am one of those people who hates drugs. My dr stressed walking to me ALOT. So rather than take the drugs I spent hours once they took me to my room walking around the nursing station. My nurses kept telling me I should rest but I wanted the pain in my shoulder gone and researched enough to know why it was there. So I walked. Then my second night there the nurse gave me a "****tail" with a sleeping pill and pain pill and I have no clue what else but it knocked me out for like 12 straight hours.

I had a very hard time with jus****er once I went home. So I drank a ton of crystal light and suck on sugar free popcycles. I had cancer when I was 17 and everytime I went for chemo they would give me popcycles so whenever I felt "icky" I sucked on a SF popcycle and walked. I can't tell you its a cure-all for you but it made me feel much better. Sorry you don't feel well...it will get better :)

I felt pretty awful the first week too.  I felt like a MAC truck hit me in the back of my shoulders.  I'm at day 11 now, and I'm feeling stronger every day.  Each day is better.  Hang in there.  Do you want to be buddies so we can go through this journey together?
One day at a time, and one meal at a time, and I WILL reach my goal!

Absolutely! I would love to be buddies! I feel much better today..I had some broccoli cheese soup yesterday and egg drop today..I think the stuff I've been eating doesn't have any nutritional value... I did eat a few things I had to chew....shame on me
