I had my surgery 11 weeks  a go and the first 2 weeks I lost 10 lbs and the last 9 weeks i have lost only 11.  I've had 1 fill 4 weeks  a go 2ccs and  I'm scheduled to have another fill tomorrow.  I feel no restriction when I eat, is that normal???  I've been excersising every day, I guess I was expecting greater weight loss....

You are very normal.  You're in what's called "Banster Hell."  This is where you've had the surgery but you are in the healing phase and don't have any real restriction yet, so it seems as if you are still doing it on your own.  For me it was fill #3.  For my friend she is about on #6, but is beginning to feel the effects of restriction.  We all have basically the same surgery and a lot is the same from person to person.  But so much more is very individual for each person.  Just be patient a little longer and KEEP EXERCISING and eating right.  YOU are doing great!

you have to remember the band is the slowest weight loss surgery out here .  You will lose anywhere from a 1/2 pound to a 2 pounds per week that is about the normal right there.

Everybody loses different and dont compare yourself to others .  I have a goal of five pounds per month . It might be low but I'm happy with that.  I look at it it's better then gaining five pounds per month .

I'm not losing weight according to the scale but I'm dropping inches that is just as important as weight loss . Losing them inches gets you into smaller clothes :o)

When I dont lose any weight for the month or if I only lose like two or three pounds I drop about 3-5 inches in that month .

The scale hasn't moved for me in two weeks now but I have lost almost 2 inches in my hips and a inch in my thighs

I have went from a 68 in my hips and I hit 56 today :o)  So keep track of them inches those are just as important as the number on the scale :o)

That's true. When the pounds arent going down on the scale, the inches seem to be going down. Try to stay positive. Don't compare your weight loss to anyone else.

* I lost 7 lbs. on the pre-op diet.*

Hi Carol,

I'm right there with you.  I had mine 10 or 11 weeks ago and have lost 24.  I also got a 2cc fill and don't have my next one until next Wednesday.  Slow and steady wins the race...right!  We will both be just fine!!!!

And if you ever begin to think that 21lbs isn't alot of weight, imagine picking up 4, 5lb bags of potatoes and carrying them around.  It's a freakin' LOT of weight!

oh yeah, I can relate to this one! The great news is that you are not alone and it will get easier. I lose slowly partly because I do not follow all of the rules so I am not one to give avise on here very often but you will start losing again once you get proper restriction. I am really enjoying this journey and hope that you will have fun on yours as well.
