It is crazy! I eat 1/2 cup of food and I am full for about 4 hours! I never would have believed it!  Good luck to you!

That's what I did.  Remember your pouch only holds about 4 ounces.  If it's constantly over-filled it will eventually stretch out and that can cause other problems.

Stick to the 1/2 c.  If you're still hungry later you can eat more.  I did the 3 meals a day with one snack.  Others do 6 small meals throughout the day.  Both options work as long as you're making healthy food choices.

Best~

I was banded on April 20th. I have also been told that I should only have 3 meals a day at 1/2 cup each. I am in the mushie stage right now, and I am not having problems staying full for 4 hours on that. I make sure to include a lot of protein.  I was told that the pouch is only about the size of an egg.

My Dr said that until I reach goal weight, I can only have 1 ounce of food total.  Then once I reach goal he teachs you how to expand your band to eat a bit more.

Every Dr is different, mine allows 4 oz by weight, 3 times a day.

i'm supposed to be around 3/4 cup but up to 6 times a day.  I can tell you that when I try to stick to this I only get in maybe 4 meals, maybe 5 on a great day.

Just do what feels right. Use your eyes and common sense. If it's chili- soft liquidy slider, you can probably eat a full cup. Should you? thats up to you. If it's dry chicken, you'll most likely not get through more than 4 oz anyway.  Try to make your snacks count toward your daily nutritional intake.

I try not to get to finicky with the rules because they are very much custom to you and your body. Only you can tell us if 1 cup is too much for your fill level. Know what I mean?
