Weird feeling in throat
Things have been great and I've lost 59 lbs since surgery but about a week ago, I started feeling like there is something in the middle of my throat. Every day and most of the time. It doesn't hurt but feels weird. I can eat and swallow with no problems. I read that some people feel tighter while getting ready to start their periods ( I should start in 3 days).
I stopped taking my heart burn med. about the same time as this started but I haven't had heartburn since.
Does anyone know what is going on?
Congrats on the awesome results!

It's not there in the morning but right after I drink or have my breakfast, its there and all day long. Its feels more like I'm having an allergic reaction to something and feels like my throat is closing but doesn't hurt and isn't making me out of breath or anything.
I don't go back to the dr. till the middle of June....I guess I'd better go in.....

It is typical during allergy season.
My doc says that we are constantly making mucous in our sinus cavities, and usually it just goes down the back of our throats into our abdomen with no indication to us at all.
During allergy season, it intensifies, and it cannot clear out quickly enough -- and we feel as though we have to constantly clear our throats.
I have had to have 2 very small un-fills in the last 2 years due to this.
I sometimes try Mucinex to thin out the mucous, but if that doesn't work, I go in for a little unfill.
If there is any burning in it --- it could be stomach acid coming UP instead of mucous trying to go DOWN your throat -- and that is nothing to mess around with -- if it is acidic at all, talk to your surgeon soon.
When my thyroid gets inflamed it feels like something in my throat. It doesn't hurt, it just feels weird. I have Hashimoto's disease (hypothyroid) and if I eat the wrong thing, it makes my thyroid inflame, most especially eating cabbage-type plants (cabbage, brocolli, cauliflower and brussel sprouts). This condition makes my body attack its own thyroid and acts like its a foriegn body, according to the endocronologist. You can have a thyroid codition for years before it maybe detected. Hope its not that, but that is the way my throat feels when my thyroid inflames.
Should get that checked out asap...
