Today was my original surgery date wish I was getting it done today.
Thanks for all the responses to my last post!
Ok so I will stick with the plan diet that is.
How many calories are you guys eating per day???? Just curious how much your 3 small meals add up to.
Send me your list of mushy foods I'm clueless.
Also if anyone has a list of good meals after the diet i d appreciate that also.

Your surgery date will come, don't worry!!
Right now I average about 750 calories a day. I went for my one month post-op visit and was told by my surgeon to try to up the calories. Not sure how I'll do that because I'm not hungry enough to get more calories in. He said that his best band losers lose best between 800 and 1000 calories.
Mushies for me were ricotta cheese with marinara sauce, soft tuna, greek yogurt. I could not tolerate cottage cheese but that is also a good mushie food.
As far as good meals after the liquids/mushies/soft food stages there are plenty of good crock pot recipes that keep the foods moist and make enough meals to have some frozen. There are also lots of people posting various recipes. Just put recipes in the search bar and you should come up golden.

Every doc is different on calories and things.
My doc thinks if you cant eat a cup of food per meal then its not healthy at all . first you are not getting enough calories in for your body , and your body believe or not does need food for the weight loss to work . So if we cant eat a cup of food he will actually take saline out of you .
I eat nothing less then 1000 and that is even to low for me . I try to shoot for 1000-1300 per day .
I keep my carbs around 30-50 days I dont exercise and the days I do my adavanced Zumba I hit around 50-80 carbs per day .
As far as meals after you get your surgery there isn't anything I fix special. I still eat the same meals I did before surgery I just eat them in moderation now . I dont fix special meals for me and then fix dinner for my family. Whatever they eat I eat.
I eat 3 meals a day and 2 snacks per day . If your calories get to low then your body will cling to them and you wont lose weight. I found that out back in Feb I stalled for a almost 5 weeks because I thought the less calories you eat the faster you would lose I was wrong that just isn't true . It is for awhile but then it will stop .

Toobig: mushies are easy and can be fairly tasty if you DIY. Avoid suggestions of eating baby food. Disgusting. I can't believe that even BABIES will eat that ****
Here's what got me through: pick a protein you like. I'll use salmon as an example, because that's something I like. Bake, steam, grill or broil it without adding fats or oils, but do feel free to add any powdered spices you like. Let it cool enough to handle.
Break into chunks and put in a blender or food processor. Add a small amount of broth (chicken usually is pretty versatile) and puree. Taste it. Add spices to your taste, then reheat when you want to eat.
Do the same with veggies. You can do the same with fruits, too, just use juice instead of broth.

Friend me so you can have access to my OH blog. I have a lot of food info there that you may find useful. Lists of foods I eat and my routine, etc.
As far as calories, your surgeon should give you some guidelines. You'll find a broad range of answers here, (just like with everything else, there is no one way). 2 years ago my surgeons protocol was 800 calories per day, 60-80 g of protein. BUT you're a guy and will need more calories for sure. I'm guessing they will want you to have 1600 per day in order to lose weight rapidly. Could me more, could be less.
Also, keep in mind that WHAT you eat is just as important as HOW MUCH. If you really want to impact your health AND WL, I would start thinking about eliminating simple carbohydrates and replacing them with complex carbs. Otherwise, get rid of anything white, i.e., white bread, white rice, potatoes, sugar, white flour, white pasta, and replace with the complex counterparts, i.e., whole grain bread, crackers, cerals, WW flour, brown rice, WW pasta, etc. Use yams or sweet potatoes in place of white potatoes. It takes more energy for your body to break down the complex carbs than the simple carbs, so while a carb, is a carb, is a carb, the complex carbs are better for you over-all. I never eliminated carbs overall but I did make this switch and I know it made a difference in my WL.
Best~
